Registration

To register as a new user, click on Register at the top of the window. You will be asked for your name, a username and password, and contact information, including your email address.

You must be at least 18 years of age to register.

After you have registered you will receive an email at the address you provided during registration. You must follow the link in the email to confirm your registration and become eligible to participate in the auction site activities such as posting an auction or bidding.

The conditions are at the current time only available in Czech language and you should have understood them before accepting the terms and conditions as well as the use of your data. Its at any time possible to cancel the agreement with a 14 day notice via email to vop@ikup.cz after you last placed item is closed and your account should be filled up to 0 Kc. Some general terms are listed in the remember the rules.

Sell an item

How Do I Add an Auction?

To add an auction, you must be a registered user.

After logon click on 'Sell an item' at the top of the window to create a new auction.

  1. Choose the category in which your listing should be placed.
  2. Indicate the title and description of your listing.
  3. Select any images from your local hard drive that you may want to display to potential bidders. For additional fees you are also able to add up to 5 additional pictures.

NOTE: The image can not be bigger than 100Kb. If the picture is bigger resize it. We offer the free software Irfanview for download.

Continue by specifying the other details as asked in the Selling form.

After clicking submit the auction will be first preview, you will be able to make any changes before you submit the listing but remember that you will need to fill in the image details again if you decide to go back and make changes.

Once you have reviewed the item and want to finally place the item click submit after the preview.

What if a buyer does not pay the goods he bought at ikup

Unpaid Items can usually be resolved by direct communication between buyers and sellers. Please note that due to the iKup User Agreement both make clear that buyers must pay for the items that they commit to purchase. Seller will get credited their iKup points in case the deal can not be closed. In case this is not possible please inform iKup directly security@ikup.cz and we will investigate the problem. Also note that iKup is only providing the platform but can not take any responsibility for its members.

Bid on an item

How Do I Bid on an Auction?

To bid on an auction, enter your bid amount in the bid box located on the auction page, and click the 'Go' button.

You may bid any amount that you feel appropriate and comfortable with. Your bid must be above the Minimum Bid amount specified in the box. You will be asked to confirm your bid. Fill in your username and password and click 'Submit ' to complete your bid.

If an item has a reserve price your bid will be accepted up to that reserve. If your bid was under the reserve price you may continue to bid until the reserve is reached.

NOTE: Maximum bid and proxy bid are the same thing. To place a proxy bid, just enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay. Automatic bids will be placed for you up to your maximum amount. Using proxy bidding, you can win the item at the lowest possible price. Your maximum bid is only placed when a competing bidder bids the same amount. Please note that if the current high bidder's maximum bid is higher than the bid you place, you are immediately outbid because your bid is not high enough to beat the earlier maximum bid. Remember: Proxy bidding will confidentially & automatically bid up to your maximum, but in order to avoid being outbid, you must have the highest maximum bid. Also, if another bidder placed a higher maximum bid, your bid will increase to your maximum bid because proxy bidding bids on your behalf up to your maximum bid.

Item watch and Auction watch

Item Watch

Item Watch helps keep an eye on auctions which are listed that you are interested in. On any item page of an auction, in the top left box you will see a link to add the item to the Item Watch List. You must be logged in to add an item to your list. Item watch notifies you when someone bids on the auctions that you have added to your Item Watch List. When the auction closes you will also be notified.

Auction Watch

Auction Watch is your assistant to keep an eye on auctions which are opened pertaining to your keywords. To use this feature, insert keyword(s) into the Auction Watch list that you are interested in. When these keywords appear in an auction's title or description, you will receive an e-mail informing you that an auction has been opened containing your keyword(s). You may also add a user's nickname and if that user opens an auction you will get notification by e-mail. All keywords must be separated by a space when entering into your Auction Watch list.

Feedback System

You may only leave feedback about another user if you have had a closed auction transaction with that user. In order to leave feedback, you can use the most easiest way:

  1. In your CONTROL PANEL click on Selling or Buying tab.
  2. Click on leave feedback.
  3. Enter the feedback
  4. Confirm the feedback with your password and click the submit button

How does it works

The feedback rating system is easy. You receive:

When to check it

Before you bid on an item, you can check the seller's feedback rating by clicking on the number next to the their name, or from the view feedback request form. Sellers may also want to view the feedback profiles of bidders to see how reliable they've been in the past.

Tip: In most cases, a high feedback rating is a good sign, but you should always check a member's feedback profile to read comments and look for negative remarks.

Users with continuing negative ratings will be investigated by iKup and might be banned from the platform or put to a probation period.

Secure shipment recommendations

In the Czech Republic the method of Post collecting is the most commen way beside of direct pick up of the product. But also other methods are offered that should be used it the Seller or buyer is now to you.

Prices and payment

Registered user have a member account at iKup. To be able to continue to sell items the account must be refilled regularly. The refilling is done through a payment to Raiffeisenbank. The account information are in the My Control Panel under My Account „Buy Credits“. Credit Card or PayPal payments to iKup are also possible.

Remember the rules?

We are very serious here at iKup in presenting you with a pleasant and safe venue for buying and selling items online. We will not accept in this auction any form of fraud, scamming, or other illegal activity. Its also not allowed to offer any goods that are illegal in the Czech Republic. Persons engaging in such will be terminated from this auction site and may be subject to criminal prosecution.

If you place a bid, and win, you will be obligated to buy the product at the price you indicated as your bid.

Placing a bid on this auction site, winning, then not paying for the product is against the rules and prosecution can result .

As a seller, the item that you place up for bids must be available. Once a bid has been placed for your item, you are in a binding contract with the potential buyer of the product, if that bid shall be the highest bid.

As a seller, you may not bid on your own items.

Items that are posted are subject to review by the staff of iKup, and may be removed without prior notice, if considered to be in violation of the User Agreement.

You may not include an email address, telephone number or website address in your posting.

Conditions of Service

IKup acts only in providing a place for buyers and sellers to buy and sell approved items. We have no control over quality, usability, legality, etc of the items offered here for auction. IKup provides this website in an 'as-is' condition, without a warranty of any kind. IKup is not liable for any damages resulting from an auction, or your visit to the site. IKup is not responsible nor liable for any damages caused or alleged to be caused directly, indirectly, incidentally, or consequentially by anything on or related to this auction site.

We at IKup may not get involved in disputes between users. In the case that you have such a dispute, by registering on this site, you are releasing IKup and its agents, employees, and assignees, and any affiliated companies or individuals from any claims, suspected and unsuspected, whether disclosed or undisclosed, arising out of, or in any way connected to, any disputes. We suggest and expect that users will employ common good business practices and personal courtesy to avoid disputes. If another user has a complaint with you, please establish a polite dialog with him or her to resolve the dispute to mutual satisfaction. Above all, when buying something from someone--whether on the internet or anywhere else--your best protection is to be an informed buyer.
